On Ruts and Grooves

So, I think a lot of the time a story feels “right” because its a story I like to tell, or one I’ve even told before.  That makes it safe, on one level, but it also lets so much of the craft fall into place so I can concentrate on plot, characterization, etc.

But new stories can’t be planted in the same ground as the old.  Not without getting tangled on the way back up.
